Head of Communications, European Commission in Bulgaria

Boyko's team in the European Commission Representation in Sofia is responsible for explaining to Bulgarians what the European Union does. His daily work involves managing all outreach campaigns, developing contacts with stakeholders, annual and event-based budget management, developing communication priorities, tenders and grants, organizing communication networks, publications and more.He has previous experience in PR and event management in the European Parliament as well as the non-profit sector. He is one of the co-founders of 365 Association that organizes the free English-language sightseeing walking tours of Sofia (Free Sofia Tour), Plovdiv (Free Plovdiv Tour) as well as specialized tours such as communist and culture. Boyko is also a member of the Tuk-Tam Association that brings together foreign-educated Bulgarians.>Boyko is often invited as as speaker at various conferences and schools such as 9 Academy and Forum Klyuch, jury member in diverse competitions such as Sofia Innovation Hackathon; as well as project evaluator in ideas incubators such as Reach for Change and Ideinik. He is part of various networks of professionals, including United States Embassy Youth Council and the Association of European Journalists in Bulgaria.His educational background (Bachelor in International Relations, LLM in EU Law and MSc in Entrepreneurship and Finance) also explains his diverse interests. Among them are entrepreneurship, education, tourism, media and politics. One of his favourite hobbies is the Spotted By Locals blog for Sofia which started upon his initiative.
