Expertise & Interests: Silke, a seasoned experience designer and association expert who focuses on connecting the right content with the right people at the right time. She could be described best as a ‘do-it-all’ who loves to shake up traditional learning formats and approaches by empowering people and setting-up new innovative initiatives.
Silke encourages attendees and planners to think of the local and global impact of events and is a vivid supporter of producing sustainable, energizing and healthy meetings. For many years she serves as ambassador of Healthy Venues www.healthyvenues.org and is a Boardroom magazine advisory board member. In both capacities, she has made a point of “looking beyond borders” by incorporating topics and partners outside the traditional field or by embracing a more “open” discussion.
Career: Ever since the start of her career in the year 2000, Silke has been working for and with associations and their marketing & communications activities. Over the last ten years she held different positions at Euroheat & Power focusing on delivering maximum value to members and other key stakeholders as well as improving the association’s marketing and events services. She joined Euroheat & Power in March 2011 from Colloquium Brussels, a Professional Congress Organiser, where she was the Conference Director for European/International Associations clients. Prior to Colloquium, Silke worked for different associations such as SEMI, where she covered SEMICON Europe & Russia Trade Shows; the European Wind Energy Association, where she led the events and marketing team; and UITP – Advancing Public Transport, the beginning of her career.
Awards & Recognitions: In 2018 she made it to the Successful Meetings’ annual list of the 25 most influential people in the meetings industry and was named in 2019 & 2020 as one of the 100 people who have greatly influenced the event industry; in 2021 Silke was recognized as one of twenty-one Women Who Advance Associations.
