Shelby Luzzi

Shelby Luzzi is the Senior Sustainability Manager at Destination DC (DDC), a role that is the first of its kind among urban US destination marketing organizations. In this position, she serves as Washington, DC’s advocate for responsible travel, environmental stewardship, and community engagement, both locally and globally. Her efforts at DDC focus on strategy development and implementation, stakeholder motivation and education, and global benchmarking efforts.

She serves on Destination International’s Sustainability Task Force, U.S Travel Association’s Sustainable Travel Coalition, and the GDS-I Technical Advisory Committee. She is the elected North American representative for the International Congress and Convention Association’s Future Leaders Council and represents Washington, DC in BestCities Global Alliance’s Impact Group.
