Rui Mota Pinto

Rui Mota Pinto is a prominent figure in the world of weddings. Recognized as a visionary designer and planner, he has been revolutionizing the romance industry for over three decades.

He is currently the only Portuguese professional with the Wedding Tourism Specialist certification and the only Master Wedding Planner in Portugal. He defines himself as creative, passionate and provocative, always challenging the ordinary and conventional. Due to his disruptive style and “outside the box” thinking, some describe him as a “rebel” and an “anti wedding planner” in the wedding industry, redefining the concept of “luxury weddings”. Born in Lisbon, father of a 3-year-old son, he always dreamed of being an artist and it was in conceptual wedding design that he found a way to express himself and create something with his creative identity. Creativity is at the core of his DNA, and all his weddings are created and designed from scratch. Rui Mota Pinto is also an Educator and Mentor in his project"WeddingLab by Rui Mota Pinto", training and advising wedding planners and consulting wedding venues and professionals.

With several international certifications Rui Mota Pinto is the most recognized Portuguese wedding planner and the only Master Wedding Planner in Portugal. Rui is on the Advisory Board of the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals (IADWP), and, since December 2022, has been presiding over its Portuguese Chapter. In 2015, Rui launched the international wedding project Pop-Up Weddings Destinations, present in 17 destinations worldwide, including Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and Ecuador. Pop Up Weddings Destinations is nowadays one of the most recognized innovative projects in the wedding industry and joins more then 130 wedding professionals worldwide.

Rui is internationally awarded 28 times including Awards for world best wedding concept and design, and for best wedding decoration, making him the most awarded Wedding Designer & Planner in Portugal. His work has been featured worldwide in some of the most important media like New York Times, Le Figaro, Grace Ormond, Gazeta de São Paulo, Mariée Weddings, Arabia Weddings among other. Rui Mota Pinto is an international speaker and he has been invited to some of the most important conferences around the world

Nowadays he develops some partnerships with some social and environment projects supporting the environmental conscience, carbon footprint compensation, sustainability, solidarity and social awareness. Rui Mota Pinto has been a Juri at the Latin American Wedding Awards and at Belief awards and in 2023 he was invited to be a Juri at he famous WOW Awards India for the"Experiential Celebrations" representing Portugal. Rui Mota Pinto design and plan weddings all over the world including Dubai, Italy, Portugal and Mexico, offering unique experiences globally.

In 2023 Rui Mota Pinto was featured at the EVENTEX Power List as one of the 50 Most Influential Wedding Professionals in the World and as one of the 50 Most Influential Event Persons in Europe.
