Director of Events, Membership & Services at the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board

I am a 22 year long member of the hospitality industry. I began my career at the Valley Forge Convention Center as an administrative assistant to the Convention Sales Department, and then quickly moved into a sales role. I had the great opportunity during this time to learn about conventions and Tradeshows, meetings and banquets, room sets and food and beverage events. My time at the Convention Center allowed me to travel to different cities and attend numerous tradeshows that helped build my knowledge of the industry. After 15 years at Valley Forge, I moved on to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and for 3 years, I was able to grow my skill set and knowledge by working in a much larger venue with much larger shows. I currently work for the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board and think I’m in the role I was meant for. I assist and help to grow our membership which has grown 2 times in numbers in the past 4 years, I get to assist all of our customers that bring their shows to the area, and perhaps the favorite part of my role is to plan all the events for our organization, including a Golf Event and our Annual Luncheon which has grown in attendance from 250 people to over 600. I could not do what I do without an amazing team, that I am so fortunate to work with and I truly love my job. I believe you should do what you love and love what you do, and I get to do just that every day.
