We are excited to officially announce the launch of the next awe-inspiring edition of the biggest global awards for events and experience marketing.What makes us especially thrilled about this edition is that 2022 already feels like a revitalization of the event industry is in the air. In many corners of the globe the programme of summer festivals, small and large scale concerts, long-missed conferences and cultural performances and exhibitions are coming back in full swing. We are foreseeing a significant rise in live-event format entries in comparison to virtual events for this new edition of Eventex Awards. One thing that remains the same is the passion and dedication we invest in highlighting and celebrating the best projects in the industry worldwide. That being said, we’ve introduced a few small tweaks to the contest to ensure that with each edition we’re ever so close to perfection.
Starting with Eventex Awards 2023, we’re introducing an even fairer scoring system. Using a mathematical formula we ensure that every entry is scored based on the same set of standards, regardless of how many judges are evaluating the program submissions. Essentially, it helps reduce variation in judging by standardizing each judge's scores.A simple example of why this is much needed is when one judge has a more critical view, while another is more generous and wishes to give generally higher scores. This is less of an issue if all judges score all submissions, as such discrepancies do not bias the average score. But at Eventex Awards members of the jury panel score only subsets of applications and in order to account for the differences, we apply this formula to normalize the scores across all judges.The mathematical technique relies on two separate measures of distribution to level the playing field. It balances scores prior to calculating the average score for each submission to account for this natural variation between judges. This year we kept the categories structure the same as in the previous edition and only did a cosmetic refresh of some of them. We also introduced several cutting edge categories added to reflect the new dawn of the metaverse and use of NFTs in events.
