The Expertise Beyond the Atlantic: Alyssa Brooks, Inspired by New Creative Concepts

Alyssa is one of the movers and shakers of the American Event Industry and we’re proud to have her as a judge for the Eventex Awards 2014. Here’s what she shared about her expectations from this year’s projects.How does your job relate to the event industry?Event Solutions is a resource for event professionals around the world. I manage the brand operations and write/curate content from a variety of industry experts to give fresh ideas and helpful tips to the event industry.What are your most important duties?In relation to Event Solutions, my most important role is as a content curator. Through social media and the website, it is essential that we are providing the information the industry needs to thrive.What motivates you to judge Eventex Awards?In addition to giving recognition to the best professionals in events, industry awards create an opportunity to discover new ideas and to network and collaborate with peers. I am looking forward to seeing new concepts arise in these submissions.How do you recognize a winner?To me, a winner is chosen based on creativity and the ability to successfully describe your event, campaign, etc. As a judge, I should be able to create a picture in my mind of what your event looked and felt like, and there should be something about it that stands out as something unique to your vision and that event.What do you find unforgivable in an application?Spelling/grammar errors! Have someone else triple check your entry before submitting.What aspect of event planning inspires you the most?What inspires me most is the incredible sense of vision that lives within event pros. Being able to take any size and shape of venue and turn it into a magical experience is an amazing feat.
