Eventex Awards 2020 Jury Yearbook: Dorota Komarnicka
Describe yourself in 3 words?Oh no, 3 words! Brave, committed, reflective.
What was your first job?First money I have ever made was on the sale of fruit when I was 10 years old. I remember that I was very proud because I could buy porcelain cups with red flowers for my mother and I still had enough money to buy crayons.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?If it were to be one and only one thing, I would choose coconuts. First of all, I could drink at the moment of thirst, secondly eat a delicious pulp, and thirdly if someone attacked me, I could throw him at the attacker :) They have one disadvantage - they are heavy :) There is one more option - dried dactyls that work well in difficult conditions and are a great dose of energy
.If you could go back in time and talk to your 20-yr. old self for 15 seconds, what would you tell?Be calm and know that God is.
What is your superpower in business?I think that I have learned to see what is invisible, read intentions, recognize situations. You have to learn quickly and be able to adapt to changing conditions.
The only way to achieve the impossible is...you have to want this and find a way to implement it. You also have to learn to ask and be grateful.
Your formula for a successful event...first of all you need to get to know well people for whom something is being done, and thosewith whom it is done. A high empathy factor is very helpful in this. You need to get as much information as possible before and be prepared for crisis situations.
Who would play you in a movie?Angelina Jolie has a bit of problems at the moment and I'm still wondering if this is the right choice I think that the choice would finally fall on her, both because of her acting and appearance.
The event of your dreams...For my round birthday, I would like to organize a big three-day party under the open sky, maybe in one of the Asian countries, to which I invite my friends, acquaintances and the most influential people in the world. I still have some time to work out the details, but it will be a big event and I'm slowly thinking about it.
What is the future of events?Already events are amazing creations, an art in which a lot of people are involved, people, who have beautiful and keen minds. Events are, after all, one of the most important factors that build brand awareness, maintaining good business relationships. I think that they will strive for excellence in many respects and will respond to the needs of time, especially as new technologies are more and more conducive to this.
The best advice you ever received?"Do not be afraid to do something stupid. In the worst case, it just will not work".
What are you fully devoted to?I'm devoted to what I love and believe.
What is the price of success? It depends on what success is for you and how you understand this concept. If you want to learn something - you need to gain knowledge, if you want to achieve something - you have to find a way to do it, if you want to give someone happiness - you have to take care of it. Price can be associated with something unpleasant, a loss - and so it was not meant to be. I think that regardless of what success is for you, it is important to develop an attitude in which the pursuit of the thing you want will be a pleasure. Does success have a price or are there additional values? I don't know, you tell me that :)
