In order to help the WSJ take the leap in becoming a digital first brand, etch proposed an event app that would allow the renowned conferences to become interactive and cutting edge, keeping attendees engaged before, during and after the event.Instead of throwing in every feature possible, etch meticulously chose the core features that are actually useful to attendees, ensuring that the main focus of the conference stayed on the event itself. Users were able to access exclusive WSJ content, tweet out directly, select breakouts, engage with sponsors, chat with each other, vote in polls & breakouts, pose questions and receive notifications. The app had around 90% to 98% participation rates.Beacon functionality is another huge feature that sponsors have capitalized on. The platform that allowed speakers and sponsors to reach audiences through real-time polling and Q&A sessions. The app is a much-needed, reliable, single source for all Vhi WMM-related content that is controlled and operated by the race sponsor. Unlike other training and fitness apps, Vhi WMM app contains exclusive content (eg. competitions, announcements, maps, travel information) for race participants, as well as expert fitness and nutrition plans and progress trackers.The app is also a useful tool in highlighting the media partnership with The Irish Independent. Articles published to the app were cross-posted on Independent.ie - which included a direct link to download the app.This app is used exclusively for the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon. It has been in use since 2015, with plans to continue usage to 2017 and beyond. It has become an important companion to many people taking part in the Vhi WMM and is exclusively branded as Vhi.
