Thomas Mauch

With over 17 years of experience in the hospitality and events industry, Thomas Mauch is an accomplished professional who has worked in top restaurants, event venues, and hotel groups across South Africa and the United Kingdom, including Marriott International and Intercontinental Hotels Group.

In his most recent role at the QEII Centre in London, Thomas contributed a substantial amount in room rental revenue and was promoted to the position of European Business Development Manager. His exceptional stakeholder management skills have earned him the trust of c-suite executives, allowing him to effectively mediate outcomes with clients and facilitate meetings, workshops, and challenges. Even under tight deadlines and pressure, Thomas maintains an inclusive, positive, and diplomatic approach that keeps people on his side.

Beyond his professional achievements, Thomas is committed to inspiring the next generation of event professionals. He has hosted round table sessions at the Future Leader's Forum at IMEX Frankfurt and mentored candidates through the Elevate Mentoring Season 5 and City Destinations Alliance (ECM Mentor) programmes.

As of March 2023, Thomas has taken on a new role with RAI Amsterdam, where he will support the Business Development team in promoting the RAI Amsterdam and Amsterdam as the top destination for events, congresses, and expos. Working closely with industry and location partners, Thomas will help to realize the city's vision of further promoting top industry sectors and leveraging its vast network to ensure the success of events and continue making a significant impact on the industry and its sectors.
