After a career in sales and marketing for international hotel chains between Florence and Rome, Laura Favaretti returned to her hometown in 2013 to start the Padua Convention & Visitors Bureau, which currently has as its major shareholder the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture of Padua, which is flanked, by the main trade associations of the territory with interests in tourism, Padua Hall and the tourist consortia.The institution promotes the territory of Padua and its province in Italy and abroad, as a destination of excellence for congress tourism (MICE - Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) and for individual tourism (leisure).PCVB attends workshop and fairs, organizes educational trips, supports the regional Film Commission, collaborates for international congresses bids, has a network of local operators, communicates and develops the brand awareness of the destination, and much more. The destination achieves important results in both sectors, growing as touristic destination in the last years and significantly climbing the ranking of European conference destinations. Since 2019 Laura Favaretti has been coordinating the Venice Region Convention Bureau Network, an official working group including the local CBs of Veneto Region, the territory that boasts the highest number of tourist presences in Italy.
