It's scouting that quided me towards events. There I learned how to organize meetings, camps and fundraising. In our family we used every opportunity for celebration, like name days and birthdays. A special thing was organizing fashion shows to my mother’s clothing shop. These are the roots that built my passion for events! I studied marketing and worked in ICT- and Insurance sectors for several years. In the beginning of 1990’s I got my chance to plan and organize my first corporate events and still remember the impact of those events. After that, I have participated and organized hundreds of events while working as marketing manager and director. All these years of experience teased me to write first event management book in Finland (2003, 5th edition 2016).In 2007 I started my consulting and training company for event industry. Since that I’ve been consulting, teaching and quiding students from elementary schools to universities and employees from public organizations to companies. I have created Successful Event Model and I have been jury member in four different event competitions Evento Awards, Mesoaja, Baltic For Events and Eventex. Totally I have judged 12 different competitions and around 500 events. I’m board member of MPI Finland chapter and member of Society for Sponsorship and Event Marketing. I write blogs, columns (Evento magazine) and articles (79 in LinkedIn). I have 35 years of experience, but my work as #tapahtumatohtori (Eventdoctor) still continues.
