Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, David received his tertiary training at the Technikon Pretoria Dance and Musical Theatre School, attaining distinctions in both acting and singing. Prior to opening David Bloch International, and throughout the early years of his career, David performed and worked with celebrated names in several well-known productions, such as the late Alan Johnson, Emmy award-winning Director and Choreographer, on the South African National Tour of West Side Story.
He has performed in a plethora of mediums across the entertainment spectrum, and to this day, continues to make special appearances as a featured vocalist and Master of Ceremonies for both corporate, private events and television broadcasts.
As an internationally recognised and award-winning Creative Live Events Director/ Producer, Show Director and Show Caller, David has also staged events & managed talent for a variety of top companies & high-profile events, both in his country & abroad. He conceptualises, creates, produces, directs, sources & manages a variety of bespoke entertainment content, not just for live events, but for television productions as well. He credits his training in Musical Theatre, his 25 years working experience and a vast & comprehensive global network of contacts, for ensuring he is the best partner to collaborate with and subcontract.
He has been fortunate to work on a variety of events in places such as the UAE, KSA, Egypt, the USA, the UK, France, Italy, India, Hong Kong, Macau, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Sydney, numerous countries across the African continent, The Seychelles, Mauritius, including privately chartered cruises in the Caribbean, Mediterranean & Baltic Sea.
Over the years David has had the pleasure & privilege of working with a number of artists & speciality acts. Many of them have appeared on television programmes the likes of Dancing with the Stars, Strictly Come Dancing, America/Britain’s Got Talent, Spain’s Got Talent & The Voice Mexico. Many have also featured in productions staged around the world by the likes of Cirque du Soleil.
Artists he has worked with include the likes of John Legend, SEAL, Brian May, Katherine Jenkins, Bob Geldof, Brian McKnight, Emeli Sandé, David Blaine, Trevor Noah, Charlize Theron, Derek & Julianne Hough, Martina Navratilova, Roberta Flack and Gloria Gaynor to name a few.
Entertainment is not just what David Bloch does, it’s who he is. His industry is truly his passion, and to echo the words of Donatella Versace, "creativity comes from a conflict of ideas."
