Eventex Awards 2020 Jury Yearbook: Liz King Caruso

Eventex Awards 2020 Jury Yearbook: Liz King Caruso

Describe yourself in 3 words? Innovative, Impact & Influence

‍What was your first job? My very first job was a barista at a coffee house.

‍If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hmm – anything Korean!

‍If you could go back in time and talk to your 20-yr. old self for 15 seconds, what would you tell? Pursue your passions – go with the flow. Your life will unfold as it goes along. Don’t spend too much time obsessing over the “plan” – just follow your passions and see where the doors open.

‍What is your superpower in business? Thinking outside the box – Rather than doing business the same way as everyone else, I work creatively to achieve my goals.

‍The only way to achieve the impossible is…to work hard and be persistent. Anything can be accomplished if you try long enough!

‍Your formula for a successful event…Focus on the attendee – if you make them happy, everything else will go great as well. Your sponsors will love you– the logistics will work out – and you’ll sell tickets easier than anyone else!

‍Who would play you in a movie? I have NO idea!! Maybe Melissa McCarthy – I love to make people laugh!

‍The event of your dreams…bringing together influencers from some of the largest sectors and educate people on the power of thought leadership.

‍What is the future of events? We’re going to become obsessed with the attendee experience. Tech can support, but won’t be the focus. Engagement is paramount so we can get the attention of our target attendees.

‍The best advice you ever received? Know your worth! You have to know what you’re worth and charge it EVERY. TIME!

‍What are you fully devoted to? Innovating in our industry – doing whatever I can to raise the profile of our industry and make it easier for people to have successful businesses in the events space, working ethically and innovatively.

‍What is the price of success? Time. Success takes hard work and time. Running your own business can give you flexibility, but you can’t get around putting in the hard work!
