Miguel is a passionate meetings industry professional and social media advocate who frequently speaks and lectures social media and technology. Miguel has been active in the Meetings Industry since 2005 and holds a master’s degree in Conference and Events Management from the University of Westminster. Miguel started his career as a meeting planner at SYNAXIS Meetings & Events, later becoming the company’s Director of European Operations. In 2011 Miguel joined the IMEX Group where he currently holds the title of Digital Content and Community Manager, a role with a focus on strategic management of IMEX’s digital content, social media and online community. As an active member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Miguel was the recipient of the 2013 MPI RISE Award for global member of the year. Later that year Miguel became the President of the UK & Ireland chapter, a role held until July 2015.
